Today’s regular meeting was supposed to take place at the Northwestern Lehigh Middle School, But the snowfall created the need for a two hour delay in starting. So our 7:30 a.m. Rotary meeting there was cancelled.
Today’s Greeter was to have been Hope Pearson and she would have done a fabulous job. President Herb would have rung the bell at 7:30 a.m. and there would have been a very nice invocation, with a very special prayer for the Hostetter family.
PR REPORT:
Gloria e-mailed at 9 a.m. today ”Last week the Northwestern Press had an article and picture about the dictionary project. Good coverage despite it was a few months ago … must have been a slow week for news!”
Also, periodically Northwestern puts out a brief newsletter to the community. In Mary Anne’s message she mentioned Rotary and the dictionary and snack pack programs. Another article in the newsletter was titled “Northwestern Partners with Allentown West Rotary Club” which talked about the snack pack program.

STUDENT of the MONTH:
Mikaela Koenig from Northwestern Lehigh H.S. was to be honored today as our February Student –of-the-Month with Rev. Jeff Kistler presenting. We will do it another time.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Last Wednesday evening Gwen Pongracz and committee conducted the AWRC Speech Contest at LCCC. There was confusion about dates and weather, and only a single contestant participated out of 6 who said they would.
Saturday Feb 6th we volunteered at Lowhill Food Pantry.
On March 30th we will hold our regular Wednesday morning meeting at Parkland H.S. Then on April 13th it will be at LCTI; and in May at LCCC with our annual scholarship awards.
Our next Thursday evening meeting is TOMORROW February 11th at the Holiday Inn in Breinigsville 5:30 to 6:30 PM. Come and enjoy as an extra, or as a make-up.
Our newest project at Kingdom Life Food Pantry starts next Friday. Contact Jean Masiko if you can help.
Mike Henry can use more volunteers to sign up for Meals on Wheels deliveries on Monday Feb.15th.
Mike also asks folks to sign up for our February Dining Out on the 19th at Eight Oaks with catering by “29 Cooks.” and a Brass Ensemble for entertainment.
The annual Engineers Without Borders event will be on April 1st at DeSales University. Come and meet a real Astronaut.

The plan was to include the High School Interact students at our tables this morning and to hear their presentations on what good things they are doing. This will be rescheduled.
