Our Greeter today was Brian Peterka and he did a marvelous job.
President Mike Gschwendtner rang the bell at 7:30 A.M. to open the meeting. Herb Klotz gave a very nice invocation.
President Mike began the meeting having the members recite the Five-way Test with the fifth question, “Is it Fun?” We recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the U.S.

President Mike showed photographs from our last meeting including Bill Palmer’s table and two other tables of Rotarians eating breakfast. There were pictures of our volunteers at the Lowhill Food Pantry, and then of them at Kingdom Life food pantry.

SIERRA LEONE UPDATE:
Herb Klotz showed pictures and said that the Principal’s house now is finished. And the classrooms will be done in the next week or two.

DICTIONARY PROJECT 2017:
Amir Famili is this year’s chair and he is asking for donations and also for assistance in adding labels and staging the books for delivery.
DINING OUT for SEPTEMBER:
Ronnee Klotz asks for sign-ups for Friday evening at 6:00 P.M. on September 15th at Queen City BBQ, 27 N 7th St, Allentown --- where Shula’s used to be on the Arts Walk. Ron Coleman says the wings are good. We will have a private room if enough sign up.
D7430 END POLIO PURPLE PINKIE RACE OCTOBER 14th:
A signup sheet is going around for runners, walkers and volunteers for that morning.
Herb Klotz explained that we need volunteers to work at various places on the morning of the Race. And we are asking members to donate gift cards that we will again raffle off as door prizes to the attendees.
This year we are planning to double the net amount raised to over $30,000 and we need sponsors for the runners and walkers from all over our 5 county district. There will be a contest for the sponsors.
MEMBERSHIP MINUTE:
Membership Chair Herb Klotz reminds us of the Membership Recruiting Mixer coming up on Thursday Nov. 2nd at Wegman’s. Remember there is a contest pitting the results of the Wed a.m. members against those of the Thursday evening members -- and Ginny and Ronnee are working for the Thursday group.
AW ROTARY SERVICE AWARD:
Chuck Ehninger said that he has three nominations, and that today is the last day for applications.

President Mike introduced our S-a-A, Mitch Huston who conducted the raffle drawings.
The door prize was peanuts and Vodka donated by Brian Peterka and it was won by Ronnee Klotz.
The $80 pot of the 50:50 was not won by Dan Crane’s ticket. There now are five marbles remaining.
HAPPY DOLLARS:
Ronnee Klotz is triple happy. They just returned from a great riverboat cruise on the Rhine River.
Their grandson now is a Cub Scout.
Their Daughter and son-in-law put off their trip to Turks and Caicos -- Hurricane Irma is lurking.
Mitch Huston was in Dallas last week with his son as planned. But standing in long lines in extreme heat to ride Roller Coasters was the wrong thing to do.
Chuck and Judy Ehninger are celebrating their 49 years of marriage today.
Joe & Peggy Goll’s grandson celebrated his 3rg birthday.
Joe & Peggy just closed on the house purchased in Key West, FL, and hopes it survives Hurricane Irma!
PROGRAM:
Our program today was Pastor Anne Parks who was introduced by AW Rotarian Ralph Witcher. She spoke about how to live to 120 years old and be healthy along the way.
Ralph and Patricia met Ann about 3 months ago and began to learn about the significance of proper nutrition to ensure the best health and longevity. He told of a Veterinarian who studied nutrition in animals and gathered 40+ years of research. The result is Dr Wallach Vitamins and Minerals.
Pastor Anne Parks is a Nutritional Evangelist and she told us about her near death experience with cancer and then receiving Devine guidance that restored her health, her business, and brought her to this new life.
Anne’s website says that she is Youngevity Founder & Vice President Marketing Director. She invites people “TO BECOME ONE OF THE ONE THOUSAND NUTRITION EVANGELISTS ... tHAT GOD TOLD ME TO TRAIN AND RAISE UP .... fREE HEALTH AND NUTRITIONAL TRAINING.”
It quotes Dr. Wallach who “says WE NEED 90 Essential Nutrients -
Vitamins, Minerals, Amino Acids, and EFA's for Life.”
Pastor Anne brought with her some CDs for sale, and she distributed personal health evaluation forms to us. Their website offers many variations of supplements for sale. Pastor Anne said that they are 100% safe and compatible with all Rx drugs. She thanked us for having her speak today.
