On April 2nd - Saturday - there is a Rotary Leadership Institute session in Media, PA open to us all. We strongly recommend our members, especially newer ones, to attend; and we pay your registration fee.

May 18th our meeting is at LCCC with our annual scholarship awards.
Dan asks that we really plan ahead and consider attending the 2017 RI Convention to be held in Atlanta, GA.

SAD NEWS:
George Ikeda informed us of the passing of Doris Mohr, widow of Rudy Mohr who was a charter member of AWRC in 1962.
LUCK of the DRAW:
The door prize donated by Tim was won by Jeanne Shipe. Then Ihor Fedoriw’s ticket was drawn and he pulled out a white marble and did not win the $70 in the 50:50 pot.
MYSTERY PHOTO:
Earlier Dan projected a photo of a person from the knees down with pant legs pulled up revealing fancy socks. After many incorrect guesses, it was revealed as a view of Gary Englehardt.
FINES:
S-a-A Don Davis fined Dan Crane $5 for all kinds of things, and Jeff for no pin and Jeanne for being late.
FOOD PANTRY COLLECTION:
Our monthly cash collection for the Lowhill Food Pantry was conducted.
HAPPY DOLLARS:
Ralph Witcher was happy to tell us that he loves his wife greatly.
Mike Gschwendtner happily reported that he enjoyed consuming the bottle of Applejack that had been made by Chad Butters’ 8 Oaks distillery.
Jeff Kistler is doubly happy. He and Barbara spent last week in Florida. And they attended the Sanibel island Rotary club meeting and found that they do three projects the same as we.
Al Lewis is happy that friend Mike Kearney was with us today.
Bill Palmer is happy that his granddaughter, Shaina, is home from college now. And she has been accepted to study for 2 months this Summer in Seville, Spain.
Ginny Sandoval went back to Spain so her daughter could attend a prom. She reports that beer is a lot cheaper there than in Breinigsville.
PROGRAM:
Dan Crane introduced our own Dr. Al Lewis and his Guitar to perform Cowboy and Country Classics. Al brought with him Mike Kearney, a performer of Bluegrass music, to add to our enjoyment.
Al played his guitar and sang On Top of Old Smokey, All About Rodeos, and Bouquets of Roses, each to great applause. Then Mike played his guitar and sang two selections to great applause too.
Al came back and performed Your Cheatin’ Heart, and then told a veterinarian joke about a cross-eyed mule. Then he sang Back in the Saddle Again. This was followed by a sing-along of Home on the Range. For his finale Al sang Ghost Riders in the Sky.
After much applause and coaxing, Mike performed another selection.
CLOSING:
Halyna and Ralph hit the right note to start us on a nice rendition of “God Bless America.” Then we recited the Pledge to the Flag of the United States and then the saying “One profits most who serves the best.”
