Our Greeter today was Gary Englehardt and he did a spectacular job while also doing some IT troubleshooting. President Dan rang the bell at 7:30. A very nice invocation was given by Chuck Ehninger. Halyna, with Bill Palmer’s permission, gave an update that Bill will be moved to the rehab unit at LV Hospital on the Kaysch Unit – 6th floor – Room KS39. She states that Bill is doing very well and has made good progress thus far.

Gwenn and Gary spoke about TT3 and state that they will still provide guidance and project management but stressed the importance for more people to take on additional roles and responsibilities. Some areas include: Auction items, check in and check out, restaurants, program ads, sponsors, speakers, marketing and finance. The project is in need of leaders and helpers. Meetings are held 1-2 times per month starting in September. You are not required to attend all meetings.
Chris Blechschmidt gave an update on the Ukraine Skype meeting and states that Dr. Suprun is acting Minister of Health and will be Deputy Minister of Health so she will be replaced as Lead on this project. The timeline on the project will likely change so that travel to the Ukraine for assessment may not happen until Spring. This is due to the fact that there were fewer physician applicants than we anticipated.
Sue Weber talked about the incoming Exchange Student from Argentina who is expected to arrive August 22nd or 23rd. She will be hosted by Ginny, Wendy and Mike & Dana.

Sunday, August 14th, is the Summer Picnic at the Weber’s.
Today’s meeting was Club Assembly and Dale Hostetter discussed the budget. Dale, Gloria, Jean and others discussed the issue of funding Snack Packs in Parkland and Northwestern. Len Salines reports the Fundraising Committee is on schedule.
Ginny talked about Membership retention, diversity, engagement, service and fellowship. There were several good ideas regarding possible activities. She plans another meeting in September and ongoing membership activities.
CLOSING: Halyna led us in God Bless America then we recited the Pledge of Allegiance and then saying “One profits most who serves best.”
