The Greeter this morning was our Youth Exchange student, Michaela Luzicova who did a fabulous job with many smiles and lots of hugs.

On April 2nd - Saturday - there is a Rotary Leadership Institute session in Media, PA open to us all. We strongly recommend our members, especially newer ones, to attend; and we pay your registration fee.

Friday to Sunday April 8 to 10 is the annual District Conference at Pocono Manor Inn. There is a Cow Pie Bingo game underway now.
On April 13th our regular breakfast meeting will be at LCTI; and on May 18th at LCCC with our annual scholarship awards.
Dan asks that we really plan ahead and consider attending the 2017 RI Convention to be held in Atlanta, GA.

The door prize donated by Michaela was a lovely Easter Basket that was won by Geoff Legg. Joe Goll’s ticket was drawn and he pulled out a white marble and did not win the $57 in the 50:50 pot.

PROGRAM:
Dan Crane introduced Eric Andrews & Mike Franceschetti, Factory Manager to explain “Who is Nestlé Waters North America Inc?”
Mike is the Factory Manager and noted that his plant has been there for 8 years. And Eric is the Natural Resources Manager for Nestle.
Their website says: “With 36 years of experience promoting healthy hydration, Nestlé Waters North America has 15 leading U.S. and Canadian bottled water brands.”
“The company’s commitment to environmental stewardship, especially in the areas of water use, packaging and energy, as well as its dedication to partnering in the communities where it operates, have led Nestlé Waters to achieve the number one bottled drinking water position in the U.S. Nestlé Waters has 7,500 employees and 29 bottled water facilities across the U.S. and Canada, and annual revenues were $4.0 billion in 2013.”
Their attitude is against carbonated sugar drinks. And they recently brought back the Nestea product to the family.
In 2002 Nestle introduced their “Pure Life” bottled water. This water is unique because all taste minerals from its source – whatever and wherever – are removed and then similar minerals are replaced such that the taste remains the same anywhere it is sold.
Their “Spring Water” is sourced in local areas each with its brand name and local flavor. Here in the Mid-Atlantic area we get Deer Park bottled water. And local sources are springs in Lynn Township and another is in Washington Township near Pen Argyl.
Eric said that they follow all of the FDA and PA rules to monitor water use and quality at each spring. Usually they drill a well 37 to 75 feet deep near the spring and truck the water to the bottling plant in Breinigsville. The one 20 year old building is for the Deer Park water. The newer 9 year old building processes and bottles the Pure Life brand.
Nestle Waters are very supportive of community activities including donating thousands of bottled products. And they support environmental teaching and donate funds too.
CLOSING:
Halyna hit the right note to start us on a nice rendition of “God Bless America.” Then we recited the Pledge to the Flag of the United States and then the saying “One profits most who serves the best.”
