At our August 14 meeting, our speaker will be Christopher Malone whose presentation will be about the evolution of Moravian Bethlehem from a closed community to an open society. Christopher is curator and scholar on Pennsylvania German material culture with a focus on the Moravians. He holds master's degrees from both Syracuse University and the Winterthur Program. Currently, he is the curator of Historic Trappe and the Lutheran Archives Center in Philadelphia. If you aren't familiar with the little town of Trappe, it's located between Pottstown and King of Prussia, and is home to some very interesting early American historical sites.
