President Mike Gschwendtner rang the bell at 7:30 A.M. to open the meeting. Mike then asked for a moment of silence so each of us might pray..
Pres. Mike began the meeting having the members recite the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the U.S.

Pres. Mike introduced our S-a-A Mitch Huston who conducted the raffle drawings. Also he collected some “guilt” payments and fines based on Don Davis’ idea that if you did not wear a “bola” as did Ron Coleman, you paid a dollar.
The door prize donated by Jerry Frank was won by Gwenn Carr . .
The $93 pot of the 50:50 was not won by Jeanne Shipe’s ticket. FOUR marbles remain.
HAPPY DOLLARS:
Mike Gschwendtner is unhappy that he forgot to bring the gift today for our food servers.
Ron Coleman recently closed a number of contracts and donated 5 checks totaling about $2,000 of his commissions to AWRC. Thank you, Ron.
Bill Palmer is happy that the 47th consecutive annual Palmer family bowling tournament was a success on Christmas Eve Day. Both sons and all four grandchildren participated.
Bill Palmer also is happy that there is no formal program today requiring him to take notes that he usually cannot read when he gets home.
Halyna Stegura is happy that daughter Christina will start her new job with the State Dept. in February. After 2 months of training she will be assigned overseas somewhere.
Halyna also passed on Dawn Costello’s admonition that “If you have the Flu, don’t attend the Rotary meeting.”
Halyna has accepted the position to take charge of the “Friends of Rotary” work. Please send to her any names of sick people for whom cards are appropriate. SEND TO: hsteg@aol.com
Mitch Huston told a story about hand sanitizers at Luther Crest, and we laughed.
Dale Heffner said that 2017 was a great year. He got a new hip, a new son-in-law, and a new grandson. Wow.
Bob Gordon expressed our thanks to P-E Jeanne for distributing lovely oranges for us to eat this morning.
Geoff Legg is happy to announce that his grandson got early acceptance to Hamilton College in upstate N.Y.
PROGRAM:
Our program today was AW members and guest enjoying good fellowship with a Holiday Friendship Meeting.
President Mike extends Happy New Year greetings to all.
