YOUR SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
P-E Gail Micca e-mailed the following project update:
Green Thumbs Garden Project: If you have a green thumb and like to grow plants from seeds, would you consider making some room under your grow lights for some plants for the garden?
If you or someone you know has the equipment to grow plants from seeds, but you aren't using it, would you consider donating it or loaning it out? This saves the garden budget a good deal. We are also looking into a small greenhouse set up if you know someone who has one.
If you like administrative work, please let Gail know as we can find a good fit for you.
Please take a look at this section on the left side of this bulletin.

PROGRAM:
Pres. Ralph Witcher had PDG Herb Klotz introduce Dr. Kevin Crosby, PDG, Asst Rotary Coordinator, to discuss a Pilot Program for Membership Growth: "Levers of Change."
Kevin Crosby joined Rotary in 2005. He is a member, and Past President, of the Rotary Club of Buffalo - Sunrise. Kevin served as District Training Chair from 2009 to 2013, District Governor in 2015-16, and District Membership Chair from 2016 to 2020. Currently he serves as an Assistant Zone Coordinator for Rotary Zone 28, encompassing 21 districts. He has served as a faculty member of RLI.
Kevin explained Rotary’s new Pilot Program for Membership Growth: "Levers of Change" This is a new tool and a new process for selecting "Club Success Indicators" to grow the membership base. The plan is for a RC to:
Establish club specific success indicators
Implement scorecard tracking
Make score card progress visible to the entire club
The AWRC B.O.D. has approved our participating in a 3 month Pilot program. There are 2,000 RCs in Zones 28 and 32 that can benefit from this effort.
Kevin said that this tool is quite easy to implement, once we have done the up-front work. This is for us to look into the mirror and assess areas of our RC that we want to improve. Then we take no more than five goals and set up a scoresheet with measurements and timing.
Progress will be measured monthly and reported to all members to encourage 100% engagement of our members. Remember, if you cannot measure it, it is not worth writing it down.
The first goal has a 25% weight and is the same for all RCs -- grow membership. One-time events should not be included. Examples of other goals to measure are:
Growing attendance from ___to ____.
Lower the average age of members from ----- to ----.
Member participation in running the RC
Member participation in club projects
Member participation in community projects, events, etc.
Number of candidates for membership in the pipeline
The plan should cover the 12 months of RY 2021-22 and start with P-E Gail Micca and the board putting it together over the next few months.
Kevin will supply us with charts for scorekeeping. He showed examples of one he has done. And he answered some questions.
CLOSING:
Pres Ralph led us in the saying “One profits most who serves best.”
