PRE-MEETING CONVERSATIONS:
Gail Micca called in from North Dakota at 6:15 A.M. She may bring her parents to PA for Thanksgiving. She noted that it was 70 Deg F there yesterday -- unusual.
Ernie Boll and Sandi are back in Green Valley, Arizona where it is 72 Deg F right now. Their son is doing well. Ernie attends Rotary there and now has 52 years of perfect attendance.
Nick Millward is in Brisbane this week finishing up his semester. Then he goes to Taiwan for a week.
Debbie Jack has the day off today. So she is cleaning her house.
Gail said that the two gardens were prepped for the Winter last Sunday, with Peter Wohlsen operating the tiller. The interactors and Y.E. Sam helped.
Nick Millward says that his Peace Program classmates and professors are awesome. He has un-learned some things and learned many more. His total training will be complete this time next year.
We discussed that Nick may not yet be allowed to belong to a RC; BUT he surely is a Rotarian.
OPENING:
President Gail Micca started the meeting at 7:37 A.M.
Pastor Jean Masiko gave a very nice invocation.
Ron Coleman led us in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the U.S. We really were in sync today.
Marlene Heller led us in the recitation of the Four-way Test, and added “Is it Fun?”
PROGRAM:
Today was a Club Assembly specifically to discuss actions to be taken since we have no Presidents in line for the next two Rotary years. Pres. Gail turned the meeting over to Gwenn Carr and Gary Englehardt to lead the discussion to create a leadership plan.
Gwenn asked us to tell what we hold as our favorite Rotary event and why.
Gail Micca said that she loved working with so many in preparing and putting on Casino Night. Many friendships.
Nick Millward said that he started with the NWL Interact club, and met so many wonderful Rotarians who wanted to help him to do good things around the world.
Gary Englehardt likes to talk to non-Rotarian groups, or passers-bye in the Mall, and to tell all about Rotary.
Marlene Heller loves working on the District level with its challenges doing the DG’s monthly NL. She really loves working on her computer, and feels as if she is part of something big.
Sue Weber does not have a single event. She constantly is amazed at how many Rotarians around the world are working to make a difference that she has met.
Peter Wohlsen says it is a joy to meet a room full of people that just want to do good.
Tori Morgan says that she loved the annual picnic at the Webers’ farm, It was casual and she had lots of talks with many people to get to know them better. She also liked the Cornhole event.
Bill Palmer loves all the good things that Rotarians do.
Ron Coleman likes our Tempting Tastes fundraisers and how we worked together. Ron said “Rotarians do things.”
Mustafa Jaffer said that our RC is like a family. He enjoys our meetings.

Gwenn Carr said that we need planning to rebuild our leadership structure. The idea under consideration is to form a new committee to provide the duties of a President starting July 2023.
PDG Herb Klotz said that this committee approach has been used in other RCs. Our committee will start with Gwenn, Gary and Herb, with 3 or 4 other members added. They will build a succession plan.
Herb said we may have different “Presidents” running meetings. In the last two years we have added great new members. We need to provide training and mentoring for these new people, and get them involved where they want to be.
Herb reviewed Rotary’s FIVE AVENUES OF SERVICE:
1. Community Service -- We do well here.
2. Youth Service -- We also do well here.
3. International Service -- We do OK here.
4. Vocational Service --
5. Club Service -- This is our opportunity.
Nick Millward has more ideas for International Service.
Tori Morgan said that we need to know which members want to be leaders.
Marlene Heller noted that Rotary trains leaders.
Geoff Legg said that the President’s job seems to have grown to be full time. Nick Millward and Geoff agree we do not need the elaborate PowerPoint slides at every meeting.

STEM YEA UPDATE:
Gwenn Carr announced that the event will be moving to the Kutztown University campus starting next year.
ROTARY BASICS -- and BEYOND:
Come one, come all! This is your chance to learn more about Rotary!!
If you have not attended an Orientation you should come to one of these sessions.
There are two sessions scheduled. One is for this Sunday, November 6th (2PM).
Come to Gary and Gwenn’s home for coffee/tea, dessert or a healthy snack.
Another session is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15th at 6PM at Herb’s home. He’s serving pizza.

CELEBRATIONS:
Pres. Gail displayed the list of November member celebration events. The list is shown below.
AWRC HOLIDAY PARTY:
Pres. Gail said that we are holding our annual Christmas party at Twin Lakes C.C. The date is Friday, Dec. 2nd. Registration will be ready soon.
We need volunteers to work on this event’s planning.
SNACKPACKING:
Diana Dunn says that our next Snack pack will be at Parkland next Wednesday, Nov 9th .
