Youth Services Month

Gail Micca
member photo
You may have heard… May is Youth Services Month. We are so fortunate to have a robust program in our club and our district to support youth in our community. This coming weekend will wrap up our district 4-Way Test Speech Contest in Atlantic City. Our scholarship breakfast is scheduled for May 17 at Madelines’s, which is one of my favorite meetings of the year, as we acknowledge some of our dedicated students. We also have some great opportunities to serve alongside our Interact members with gardening May 13, Snack Packing May 17, and roadside clean up (reschedule TBA).

Additionally, we have some great youth-focused speakers on our calendar: on May 10, we will learn about LifeSmart with Jamie Hill and May 24, we will have Susan Bartels from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of LV. On May 24, we will also hear from our exchange student, Samuel, and learn more about him and his experience during his exchange. And finally, we have our last Student of the Month award and Interact Breakfast planned for May 31 at Parkland High School.

It doesn’t end there – we have many members behind the scenes preparing for a successful Camp Neidig in June and our second annual STEM YEA (Youth Explorer Academy) in July.

A special thanks to Peter Wohlsen who has added some great content to our webpage to highlight our youth services. Check it out here:
It’s so great to see so much happening with our Youth and seeing the impact we can have when we invest in them. Thank you to all the members who devote so much to helping our youth achieve greatness.
