Today was a Zoom meeting with 35 people on line. After some conversations President Ralph Witcher opened the meeting at 7:30 A.M.
GUESTS ON LINE:
Michelle Steiner, guest of the club -- and almost a new member; DGE Bob Hobaugh, Kutztown RC; and Capt. Nick Millward, Rotary Peace Fellowship winner calling in from Japan.
SAD NEWS:
It is with great sadness that we report the passing on December 18, 2020 of our beloved friend and fellow Rotarian, Ronnee Klotz. Ronnie has been a devoted wife, mother, friend, and Rotarian for many years, inspiring greatness in people both locally and abroad. Please keep Herb and the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time to support them. The family has requested than any donations in Ronnee’s memory be made to support either The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation or The National Trust for Historic Preservation, in honor of her love of travel and history.
VIDEO TRIBUTE:
Pres. Ralph showed a video of pictures of Ronnee that he assembled and put to music. It was beautiful. Herb was on line and he thanked everyone for their support over the last year and their prayers.
ROTARY COOKIES DISTRIBUTED:
Thanks to the efforts of P-E Gail Micca, some of us AW Rotarians received a ribbon wrapped package of very special “Rotary” cookies. The cookies are round with an outer edge of Rotary gear teeth and embossed with the Rotary symbol -- and covered on the back side with chocolate.
Gail and Ed drove to our homes and delivered these very, very special cookies. Our sincere thanks go to Gail and her helpers for this great Holiday gift.
HONORARY PAUL HARRIS FELLOW AWARD:
On Tuesday December 22, AWRC made an onsite presentation to the Allentown Chief of Police Glenn Granitz at the City Council Chambers in the City Hall Building. D7430 DGE Bob Hobaugh of the Kutztown RC, AW President Ralph Witcher, Ron Coleman and Murtaza Jaffer gathered with Chief Granitz for the ceremony. The Mayor was there.

PROGRAM:
Pres. Ralph Witcher introduced Seth Witcher, Parkland Graduate and Music Artist -- also Pat and Ralph’s son. Ralph said some flowery words about Seth. He said that Seth has brought light into our community and abroad, and he has a loving heart.
Seth’s Presentation Topic is his Personal Thank You To The AWRC.
Seth Witcher has been playing guitar for 14 years. He taught himself how to sing and has been singing for 9 years. He performs on a semi-hollow electric guitar that he built in Parkland High School.
Seth is going into his final semester at Kutztown University. He is a prolific song writer, and loves to give his lyrics life with melody. Seth’s dream is to become mainstream one day in the very near future.
Seth thanks AW Rotarians for supporting him. He performed at our 2018 and 2019 Holiday Parties, and also at our Summer picnic at the Webers’ farm.
Seth said that for the first few years he performed for just about anyone who would listen. This included Bar and Restaurant owners, delicatessens, etc. After 3 years his reputation is there and clients now reach out to him.
Seth now spends time working in a studio in Bethlehem. He is learning how to produce and market his music.
As a special treat and a way of celebrating the holidays without our annual party, Seth performed four delightful selections for us to close out his presentation. They were:
Let it Snow
It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas
A special song sung by Kermit the Frog,
Nate King Cole’s Christmas Song
Well done, Seth. And thanks from us all.
CLOSING:
Pres Ralph led us in the saying “One profits most who serves best.”
