PROGRAM:
Today was our AWRC Executive Board & Project Chairs as a Club Assembly with a Quarter Business Overview. Pres. Gail began by asking Treasurer Chris Blechschmidt to report on our Finances.
Chris described the key items in our Operating account, our Foundation account, and our special account. He noted that Happy Dollars and 50:50 events are starting to bring in some extra funds. He also noted that we paid a one-time donation to both the Veteran’s Memorial, and the STEM-YEA program.
Chris said that we are not doing out dictionary project anymore. These funds will go to the new Kindergarten book program.
At 7 months YTD we have about $15,000 uncommitted. There will be at least $8,400 going toward our 2022-23 projects.
Our AWRC Secretary, Michelle Steiner, explained that for our 60th anniversary party she is putting together a special AW Member Directory complete with our info and a picture. If you do not have a photo posted in our ClubRunner database, please have one ready for Michelle when she asks. ALSO, please have an answer when she asks “What do you love about Rotary?”
PDG Herb Klotz reported on Membership. YTD we have added 4 new members, lost two and have two in line to induct. Our goal for June 30, 2022 is to have 65 Active members. So we need to recruit 8 more.
We are considering holding a Pickle Ball tournament for many non-Rotarians as a recruiting event.
PDG Herb Klotz reported on AWRC giving to the Rotary Foundation. Our YTD for PolioPlus is over our goal. Our goal for the Annual Fund this year is $10,000 and we are only at $5,000 so far.
Herb said we have until March 31 to apply for next year’s District Grants. Please tell Herb or Gail your suggested projects to fund.
Public Image Chair, Marlene Heller, asks that we share the Membership messages we post on Facebook.
Service Chair, Kathy Ott, noted that at the District level, April 30th has been selected as a Rotary Service Day.
The STEM-YEA project is full steam ahead. Training of RC representatives will start soon.
Program Chair, Ralph Witcher, reminds us to suggest speakers for our future meeting.
Youth Exchange Co-Chair, Sue Weber said we will be sending out student Lauren DeMay to study abroad. There still is no info on us receiving an inbound student this year.
Sue noted that former exchange student Ellie from Peru is planning to visit at Easter.
CLOSING:
Pres. Gail led us in reciting our motto “One profits most who serves best.”, rang the imaginary bell and adjourned the meeting.
